Lady Marmalade

 .....camera faces the inside of the front door of the restaurant .......silence broken by door swinging open with woman entering....she is slim with big hair, lots of make up, numerous mardi gras bead necklaces, too tight halter top and spiderman spandex leggings.  Music booms "mississippi queen" as she saunters towards the captain.  She stops, looks at his plate of food, sits down beside him and asks " you don't like the food sugar?"  Captain can't speak, his mouth is open and food is dripping down his chin...slowly shakes his head.  Lady marmalade reaches down, grabs something off of his plate and gently samples.  After a few chews she sweetly says, "it aint southern, but it aint bad either".

MS restaurant guilty!

==== MISSISSIPPI SNAPPER ====

• Seasoned Biloxi / Bayou waterman "Landry Boudreaux" settles in to what he expects to be a perfectly deep-fried, wet dream of a local snapper sandwich.
• as he brings it to his mouth, his culinary-Bayou-Spider Sense tells him something is not as it seems
• slow motion medium to C/U shot of Landry lifting the sandwich to his mouth
• c/u shot of Landry's mouth opening....then closing around the sandwich.
• shot stops
• c/u of Landry's pained expression   ("Jaws" track-in shot - dolly zoom)
• cut to 3/4 shot of wall as seafood, saliva, and false teeth hit the way next to the portrait of Confederate General Lee.    Along with auto parts ads, menus, dollar bills, etc.

Night Crawlers

====== Night Crawlers =======

G'parents from California are fascinated by the size of Iowa NCs.
The fishing-obsessed GPs gather a BUCKET of NCs for the car trip back to Cali...or so is the plan.
They get as far as Arizona before being overwhelmed by the smell and trash the (dead) NCs.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

V/O: Jerry had an infection in his toe, which he refused to have treated.

<J. limping across room.   He sits in chair to pull off sock.   c/u on his face.   J. has spiked, thinning hair and a SF bullseye.  Sock is removed to reveal grotesquely infected toe>

Scene 2

V/O: His wife, Rosie, had asked him for a month to go to a doctor, but he wouldn't go.

<c/u of Rosie.   Some kind of Asian wife.  Very short, kinky hair, thick glasses, etc.>

< she's shrugging, and screaming, pointing to Jerry's oozing toe. More screaming. >

< Jerry sitting on a couch.   Rosie in background fussing.   >

<c/u Dog's nose comes up to camera, sniffing>

Scene 3

V/O: A few weekends ago, the couple went out to celebrate Rosie becoming an American citizen.

< c/u of dead duck.   pan out to exterior of Chinese restaurant.   sign above restaurant says "Congrats, Rosie"  "Russel" crossed out >

< party inside. fireworks.   body flying?  >

"I had probably five or six beers," Douthett said.

< c/u bottom of beer mug.   Jerry drains it, revealing his face. >

< cut to shot of hand slamming down bottle next to 5 others.   Drunken laughter,  slight sound of Rosie fussing in Asian - Mexican in BG.   dog bark?   >

"Then we went next door. They have these huge margaritas, think they're 32 ounces, "

Old Timey Bartender serves GIGANTIC golden margarita.

"....and I killed it."

<guzzling sounds>

<Jerry guzzles it down.   Puts drink down.   <slam!> Smiles drunkenly.   (gold carbonation bubble transition?  >

<thud s/fx>

Scene 4

V/O: "The drinks sedated him enough that he fell asleep when he went home."

<v/o says "Jerry stumbles into bed".   Anim of Jerry passing out (hard) on front, cement steps (s/fx) >

Scene 5

V/O: "Rosie was in another room."

< Rosie hops into another room >

Scene 6

"I woke up <scene blurs into clarity> and the dog was laying alongside my foot, <Kiko lying next to foot happily, dreaming(?), blood on his muzzle>

then I looked and blood was everywhere," Douthett recalled. < cut to blood on floor, walls, figurines, Farrah poster, etc >

"I ran to the bathroom and screamed for Rosie to come in. < panicky, hyperventilating, sobbing Jerry -- screaming!! >

I went to the bathroom, rinsed it off and it was gone."   < rinsed off foot reveals gnawed off toe - toe bone >

Scene 7

V/O: "As for the dog, Kiko, Douthett calls him a hero."

< c/u of stupid dog face.   tongue out, licking balls, etc>

Scent 8

"It wasn't an aggressive attack. ((night time) Kiko peeks up over the bed, looking around) He pretty much just ate the infection (Kiko puts a little salt on the toe, puts a napkin around his neck before he starts to eat), so he saved my life," Douthett said. "I probably never would have gone in."

Scene 9

"Maybe he thought it was not part of Jerry's body," Rosie said, "that it was a dead animal laying on the bed, but he chewed off the infected part so he knew when to stop, which was great!!"

‘I was hiding it from people, Rosie included,’ he said.

‘It smelled, and I look back now and realise every time we'd visit someone with a dog, their dog would be sniffing all over my foot.’
Before the surgery, Mr Douthett asked a nurse: ‘Is there any chance I can get whatever's left of my toe, so I can give it to Kiko as a treat?’

Scene 10

V/O: Kiko is still with the family but under observation by authorities to make sure the dog is not a menace.

Scene 11

V/O: Douthett found out he is diabetic and said he has given up drinking ..... at least for now.

Color Styling 01

I'm thinking to simplify our first "HC" production.

what if we just did a "Stinger"?   5 - 10 secs.  ??

Consider 70's style, etc.  Different flavors easily available.
